小亭子偶遇 Encountering in a Small Pavilion

These days, due to the annual inspection of the establishment of a national civilized city, we have been asked to go to the community to get everything ready for the inspection. It climbed onto the top of the pavilion, but now it has just grown a few leaves, which is really difficult to detect without careful observation. In summer, wisteria flourishes, sheltering from both sunlight and rain.

In the afternoon, the setting sun was blocked by tall buildings, and the wind blew again. The old people who had been sitting quietly in the small pavilion had disappeared. I simply opened the CGTN in "Xuexi.com" on my phone and watched the English news.

I was so intoxicated that it wasn't until a woman almost put her face against my phone screen that I realized someone coming to me. There was a girl of four or five years old next to her. The woman was surprised and said, "Are you listening to English?" I smiled slightly. Then she told me that her daughter was also receiving bilingual training. I seem to have developed an interest and unexpectedly met a confidant here?

The little girl showed me the insect in her hand, and I called it "Cicao", but I don't know its scientific name. The little girl also picked up a small earthworm and showed me the spider in a plastic bag. The woman said that her daughter was very interested in insects, small animals, plants, and could name almost all of them.

I understand that the little girl was good at observing and loving nature, which is a gift. I was even more surprised later. The woman said that her daughter's English was very good, and she could speak English names of some insects and animals. She also let me watch several videos of the little girl speaking English. Unexpectedly, a five years old girl should be so fluent in English. I tested her several English words: butterfly, fly, earthworm, spider, and she came with her mouth open. The woman also asked the little girl to say "毛毛虫" in English, but I didn't know how to say it until the little girl blurted out "caterpillar", which suddenly dawned on me. This is also a Fortune 500 company that produces products called caterpillar.

I wonder why this little girl is so excellent. The girl's father graduated from Chongqing University, majoring in English, and now works as a translator in a foreign company in Yantai. The girl's mother, also this woman before me, graduated from Yantai University majoring in Japanese and originally worked in a foreign company in Yantai. Because of caring for her children, she had to give up her job and go home to teach her children.

It turns out that this is the result of family influence and parental cultivation. Moreover, the little girl has a talent for language, which is inherited by her parents.

When I came into contact with English, I was already in middle school, almost 15 years old. But the little girl in front of me is only 5 years old, and her English proficiency has impressed me.

The girl and her mother said goodbye to me and left, leaving me sitting there contemplating and slightly envious. People have actually separated from each other at a very early age, due to their own reasons as well as family reasons.

大概是用防腐木搭建的一个长方体形状的小亭子，两边是一排排的长凳，两侧都种上了一种叫做紫藤的植物，爬上了小亭子的上面，只是现在刚长出几片叶子，不细心观察还真不容易发现。夏季里，紫藤枝繁叶茂，遮阴又遮雨。

因是下午，斜阳又被高楼大厦遮挡住，况且又刮起了风，原来在小亭子静坐的老年人都不见了。我索性打开手机上的“学习强国”里面的CGTN，收看起英语新闻来。

我陶醉其中，直到一个女士几乎把脸贴在我的手机屏幕上看时，我才意识到，女士身边还有一个四五岁的女孩子。女士很是惊讶：“你在听英语？” 我微微一笑。然后，她对我说她的女儿也在接受双语训练。我似乎有了兴趣，竟然在这里遇到了知音？
小女孩把手里的虫子给我看，我叫它“刺草”，但不知学名。小女孩还拎起一根小蚯蚓，还有塑料袋里的蜘蛛给我看。女士说她的女儿对昆虫、小动物、植物等都很感兴趣，几乎全部叫出它们的名字。

我明白，小女孩善于观察，喜爱大自然，这是一种天赋。更让我惊讶的还在后面，女士说，她的女儿英语特别好，一些昆虫和动物的英文名字都能讲，她还让我看小女孩讲英语的几则视频。想不到，一个五岁的小女孩竟然英语如此流利。我便考了她几个英语单词：蝴蝶、苍蝇、蚯蚓、蜘蛛，她都张口就来。女士还让小女孩说“毛毛虫”用英语怎么说，而我都不知，直到小女孩脱口说出caterpillar，我才恍然大悟。这还是一家世界500强企业，生产的产品就叫caterpillar。

我不解，小女孩为何如此优秀呢？原来女孩的爸爸毕业于重庆大学英语专业，现在烟台的一家外企做翻译；女孩的妈妈，也就是这位女士，毕业于烟台大学日语专业，原来也在烟台一家外企工作，因为照看孩子，只能放弃工作而回家教子了。

原来这是家庭的影响，是父母培养的结果，再者，小女孩有着语言的天赋，这是父母的遗传。

当我接触到英语时，已是在中学，接近15岁了。可眼前的这位小女孩才5岁，她得英语水平就令我刮目相看了。

女孩子和她的妈妈与我拜拜而去，只留下沉思而又略带点羡慕的我坐在那里。人与人之间实际上在很小的时候就已经拉开了距离，有自身的原因，也有家庭的原因。
