Pains could not have her slain,
Every day, she wined and dined with pain,
She found comfort in the belief that tomorrow will be full of gains,
She smiled amidst hunger, and said tomorrow will be full of grains,
She was was full of hope, and with giving up, she had no time to bargain,
God will make a way, she would say, again and again,
In the midst of troubles, she kept her mind sane,
With her hope and trust in God, she drove her troubles insane,
While problems attempted to bite her finger,
On their faces, she blew the smoke from her cigar,
I tell you, people, never been a woman like my mother,
Okay, I'll wait, like my mother, show me another.
