Allow us just a breath

Under the crushing weight of this kukuruku
Though as Olympus
We are short of breath
Allow us just a breath

Even in the straight-hold of your economic strings
Crushing with spines
We lose our breath
Allow us just a breath
Now that the international umpires have stricken the last stroke
To announce your victory over our will to survive
We are worn out
Allow us breath
A+ Gallery_61.jpg
Our arms fast in strings and scrotal sacs as toy in your rugged palms
For that's the posture of a victor over victim
We gasp for breath
Allow us breath

Our soul in are Hasting up to depart from our bodies
And our sense submitting dangerously to this gruesome demand
The air in US finished
Allow us just a breath
A+ Gallery_62.jpg
Before the flesh become stone or broiled for brorh
And our spirit swiftly to its maker flee
Because there's no air to be afloat
Allow us to breath

Because the devouring hogs and hounds in your domain are yet overfed
And the horde waiting to be mangled are numerous
The breath in us is gone
Allow us to breath.

Our mental gongs have been deadened and choked
With wads of Naira note
And they lost their original sounds
And in protest we hear the boiling of our own blood in us
Drying up all the blood in our system
Why not allow us just a breath.

With all our arms helplessly thrown up in complete surrender
And our hearts chanting choruses of bitter revenge
No air to sustain
Just a breath

Thank you for sharing this with us. It resonates deeply and I hope many others will also be able to read these words. Your ability to put to words the impotence so many of us feel is a blessing.

Thanks for the comments. It means a lot! Stay safe

This is more of the content I would love to see on #blurtafrica. Yes you got the instablurt tag and taking full advantage of rewards for a nice selfie and a cute face, but the writing that went with it speaks of your African culture and it is coming from the voice of an African. This is part of a conversation I am trying to have on another post. Thanks for that, I will use your post as a positive example to my argument.
