They Are Justified!!!

No, they are not!
I mean yes, they are Justified!

Okay, I've thought so much about this and that's how I've been going round the answer like a little baby on a swing.

Just when I would conclude that such situations can't be justified in any way, another thought comes in and I'll be like "They are Justified of course".

Well, how about we talk about this to be sure of what the concluding answer will be? I'm not going to write from experience (I've never been an activist except if being a marketer counts as one though 😅) but I've witness lots of activists movements in my country (my state to be precise).

Too bad, if I'm to write about the outcome of all the activists movement I've witness... No way! It isn't Justified.

The actions these people take during or after the protest can be really scary sometimes but I've also witness one where the protesters were pushed to the extreme but shouldn't they have known it was leading to that direction?

No doubt, the activities of these set of people can be really disturbing to the general public but I don't know if you're having the same thought as I am about this....

Would it be disturbing if it is about or will affect you positively?

What I'm asking is, would you see a protest as a disturb or causing nuisance if it will be beneficial to you? What if it is a peaceful protest? Aren't some peaceful protest disturbing too?

I'll say, the justification or no justification comes in depending on the situation of each protest. There are protests that shouldn't have started at all but still did, most of which ends in causing confusion and more worse, loss of lives or properties.

Two years back, it was all over the news about a protest that most of my country was involved in with the aim of ending police brutality in the country... I'm still in the country right now and the only memory from that past protest is the blood shed and the increase in crime since after that day.

That protest didn't solve anything, the situation only got worse... Causing so much nuisance to the public.

Not Justified!!!

Yes, they had a good reason at first but no, they played the cards wrongly... The aim, idea and moves didn't match so it was all pointless.

Recently, there's the Asuu (Academic Staff Union Of University) strike protest from Students begging the government to pay up what they are owing lecturers so studies can resume, nothing is done about it yet.

I see this protest going wrong if nothing is done soon enough because a lot of students are complaining and wishing to resume school.

Not only that, crimes of the youth will be on the increase soon if they are not kept busy with school and studies... Too bad, the government aren't bothered about all that. They will just wait to get the bad youths behind bars without doing the major things they ought to do to stop or reduce the crimes.

With these kinds of situations where actions are not taken, what would the masses do? Go for activism with the hope that the pressure they'll give will make the government do something about it.

This is Justified!!!

But like I asked in a post I read minutes ago, what if a peaceful protest that had a goal and a good strategy ends up as a disturb or violent to the public?

Let me ask here, is there any protest that ends well?

If yes, I'll say I'm yet to witness or hear or read about one but if no! I guess you may want to agree that there is no protest that is justified unless it somehow finds it way to get what it wants and ends it not so peacefully.

Sometimes the government needs these protest to get their hands working on the problem presented to them... I wish they don't have to let situations get to that extent. Even in working sectors, CEOs and directors allow such to happen before they take actions... This is just a way of causing problems for ourselves (Not so wise).

So if I'm to conclude on an answer to the question

Are Activists Who Inconvenience The General Public Justified?

I'll say, yes but it depends on the cause and aim of the protest. And that means not all protests are justified. I hope I was able to make a point in my response... This was so not an easy topic to write on but I tried my best to give a response.

Thanks for reading!!!

It all comes down to context doesn't it? I agree that in most cases even if it inconveniences it is justified. We must have the right to protest

Exactly! Context declares it Justified or not
