It's market Friday again and I'm so excited writing this post because I'm done having so much fun going to the market, taking pictures and also did some preparations which took my whole day yesterday (Yea, my market Friday started yesterday and I finally got to write the post today since it has to be a Friday's post!!!).
Who's in for an amazing view at my local Market?
Well, I didn't go to the market alone since I had to buy a lot of stuffs and couldn't imagine carrying all of them back home all myself... My friend @otuyanancy decided to go with me and it made it easier for me at the market, I was able to take pictures more comfortably and buy enough things that I needed.
We left for the market on time as it was a very sunny day (It has been raining days since I came back to school), we went straight to get stuffs I needed... From the lightest to the heaviest of them (Who else does that when there's a lot to buy? 😅). I hate too much load but when I can't escape it, I go for the heavy ones last before leaving the market.
I had decided to prepare fried rice (for my stomach sake) so I bought some ingredients... I couldn't stop laughing at how Nancy tried to bring down cost with the seller, it was a funny situation but I felt grateful (I paid less for more!!!)
Was it really less? Not sure but way better than just paying the first amount the seller had requested. Those sellers can be very big with their first prices but we were stronger 😅
The first seller didn't have cucumber and we needed some for the salad. We had to visit another seller to get cucumber and the two we bought cost half a dollar (A bit more expensive than before, I wonder why... Not cucumbers too!)
Since we were closer to a cream shop, I decided to get my face cream which haven't reduced price at all... I wonder when it will 😅 well, the face cream isn't so expensive. I guess that's a reason the price is stable for now.
And we went for the frozen chicken store, prices are same but I think the sizes were reduced 😅 a kilo seem too small unlike before but I went for it for my stomach sake!!! I got half a kilo which cost me $2 and the lady shaped them in small pieces which I made sure to take a pictures of.
I bought some spices I would need to make the chicken more tasty and spicy! I enjoy spicy meals but not too spicy (I wonder if those at the party would love spicy meals too 🤔).
I also got palm oil which I would need for myself in other future meals. Didn't need to buy vegetable oil since I had enough at home, I also got salad cream.
We saw these beautiful looking plantains and we couldn't stop looking 😅 it was a perfect example of something calling out our names but guess what! We couldn't buy even one! It was so expensive.
We knew plantains are expensive these days but didn't imagine the price to be so overwhelming 😅 we asked for the price of the one my friend was holding and the seller said it costs $5 so calmly 😂 how could she be calm saying such an amount for just a little number of plantains? We walked away to save our faces 🙈
I also got some beverages for my room (I enjoy taking them when I don't have the strength to prepare a meal or I'm in a hurry to leave the house). The prices are still okay, I got what I could afford and we came back home to start the preparations.
