DEFEATING SCAMMERS BY OVERCOMING GREED

in instablurt •  2 years ago

Three years ago, a friend of mine felt into the hands of some really desperate people and we call them the SCAMMERS. She was in desperate need for money but she didn't know how to get it but someone sent her a whatsapp link and asked her to join. She quickly joined and she was show some pretty quick way to get some money.

They were asked to make a minimum deposit of #2000 and they will get #4000, which means any money above #2000 you put in, they give you double. At first she was reluctant to accept it but her friend that introduced her to it told her that she made a deposit of #10,000 and she has received #20,000.

My friend kept thinking because she has already been scammed before with something similar. But due to the fact that she needed money at that time, so she made up her mind to play. Now that she was ready to risk #2000, they were reinformed that it's now #5000 minimum. At this point my friend was already willing to do it, so she still went ahead with the process.

The worst part was that she had just #2000, so she pleaded with me to help her complete the money and she will pay me back once they send it back to her, after one hour of deposit. I was reluctant but, I know she needs the money and I was also in need of an extra cash so I gave it to her. She sent it and after one hour, she didn't receive any money back. She tried complaining on the group chat but she couldn't because the settings were changed.

At this point we both knew we've been scammed of our little money. I was just laughing at myself because I knew I was greedy and that's why we feel victim to that scam. The internet and even the streets are filled with talented scammers and we just need to be well informed and vigilant to know when we are about to fall victim of these SCAMMERS.

Scammers always feel they deserve whatever they earn because they will say the victims are the greed ones for falling for their pranks and I can't agree less with them. We always want more money without working hard for it and these scammers know this because they're humans like us, so they use it to their own advantage.

The lessons to be learnt are, we should be satisfied with what we have and if we need more, we should work for it and not look for a ponzi scheme to invest in. Also we should always try to be aware, there's a saying that, KNOWLEDGE IS POWER and that's true.
