As an "Advisor Coach," Mahela Jayawardena, who played for Sri Lanka as chief, will serve for an entire year beginning on January 1, 2022. He will answer to the public group's lead trainer.
Jayawardena will be the head of the High-Performance Center during his time there. He will be responsible for the entire cricketing side of the public groups, and he will help the players and their chiefs settle on significant choices.
Sri Lanka Cricket CEO Ashley De Silva says, "We are exceptionally glad that Mahela will enlist in the National Team for a more drawn out timeframe." This is because the nation will have an extremely bustling global timetable in 2022. He will continue to play for Sri Lanka's Under-19 group even though he is getting more seasoned. The group is planning for the ICC Under-19 World Cup, which will be held one year from now.
Mahela Jayawardena says that this is an incredible opportunity for him to work with public cricketers and mentors in Sri Lanka's advancement crews, including the U19 and A-Team groups, to assist us with doing equity to Sri Lanka's extraordinary cricketing abilities and potential.
