I was just checking all the Crypto in my Hive engine. A whole lot of them. It's funny how I don't know how some of them got into my wallet. What I know for sure is that I probably used a tag while posting in a Community or perhaps got lucky with some sort of airdrop.
Of course, some of them are not worth much at the moment but being in this Crypto space has always been a walk of faith. We hope to get something out of all sorts of tokens. Even if it's a one-star rated token with no solid project backing it up or a good use case, we still hold onto it because anything can happen.
The worst that will likely happen is that the projects may remain stagnant and the Crypto token will become completely valueless, but the good news is that I don't remember paying for any of that. So, it surely wouldn't hurt as much compared to buying into a project and looking forward to its growth only to watch everything turn to the shittiest of all shitcoins.
Talking about shitcoins, let me tell you about the worst Crypto I ever bought.
1UP is the Crypto token used in Uptrennd (of blessed memory). I started my writing/Crypto journey in Uptrennd and they had this system where people earn 1Up tokens from upvotes. Aside from what I earned, I decided to buy some of the tokens and HODL like a Crypto pro despite being a newbie in the system.
It felt like a good decision back then in the third quarter of 2020 but when the platform crashed in 2021, I got to realise that the trade was a dreadful one. The tokens are still sitting in my Trust wallet and it is nowhere near good enough to be dumped in the market.
Oh, my world!
It was a panic buying on my side and I genuinely believed something good will come out of that trade, but so far, NOTHING has happened. In terms of the assets I've had in my possession since I got into this cryptoverse, the decision to spend some quid on 1Up will surely remain an atrocious trade.
I expected some magic to happen with that token. I still have a bunch of it in my wallet. To be fair, it didn't cost a fortune to buy what I bought, but the fact that all these are worth just a dollar at the moment shows how bad the value has fallen.
For the record, I'm stuck with that trade. Haha. I begrudgingly won't mind dumping all that for just a dollar and that demonstrates how bad the trade was. Funny enough, I can't even dump it because it will cost some real gas/transaction fee (Eth shit) to dump the shitcoin and I'm not ready to cough it out.
We all say Crypto is unpredictable and magic can happen so, I wouldn't completely write off the chance of getting something out of this.
But in terms of how long I've held this and what I've seen from its value within these 23 months, I must emphasise that this is so uninspiring, underwhelming and officially the worst Crypto asset (liability) I've held since my involvement with Crypto.
On a consolatory note for me, I can always make a case for it being the project that introduced me to Crypto and to some adorable netizens, but that's it. Worst Trade Ever!
