It is my considered opinion that it is far easier to attain success than it is to maintain success. I also believe you have not yet attained success until you have sustained success. Maintaining and sustaining success comes from more than just wishing, it comes with delicate management of success.
The first step here is to understand that success comes with its challenges and to be on the lookout for them, tackling them as soon as they rear their heads. It is important to never let success get into one's head, but to sit on one's shoulders as a responsibility to carry, so always stay humble. As a matter of fact, the higher you go, the humbler you should become, realizing full well that it is God's doing and not yours. Don't ever dismiss the genuine complaints of others because you are not at the receiving end, tables turn. Rather, listen to people, treat genuine concerns with a solution mentality and never from a position of power and brute force, always seek a resolution. While you're at it, be open to suggestions and involve those for whom the decision is to be taken, those affected by it or those to implement it. Don't ever let yourself be power driven or drunk, be willing to trust others enough to delegate responsibilities, and seek to build leaders, instead of being an obstacle to their growth. And finally, stick to what is agreed and focus on what is essential.
These lessons and others we can learn will be useful to us in every sphere of our human interactions, especially for those who are leaders and those who desire to become leaders. Do not regret all after, learn to manage whatever success God bestows on you, so that it doesn't damage you. Remember He will always humble the proud and exalt the humble. May your success not become the cause of your downfall, Amen!
Peace be with you!
