Sometimes it seems quite logical to conclude that evil is pervasive and good people have vanished or diminished in number and influence. Truth is, nothing could be farther from the truth. There are good people everywhere, and there is some good in everyone everywhere, as there is some bad. That is one reason I never subscribe to blanket labelling or writing people off; plus demonizing an entire group will never make sense to me, or sit well with me. There are good people everywhere, just focus and you will find them, there is good in every person, look for it hard enough you will definitely find it, then emphasize that good and help them bring it up more easily and often.
That's the spirit we are each and all called to imbibe and inculcate: evil is loud, as are all empty vessels, but good is constant in everyone and everywhere. Have the patience (one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit) to find that good and make it prominent instead of falling under the illusion that evil is pervasive and overwhelming; or nothing good can come out of that person or place or group. Remember Nazareth.
I can only imagine the beauty of the world if we each and all only emphasize the good in others, while helping them overcome their weaknesses. That is the Kingdom of God we are called to establish and expand. Be about it pronto.
Peace be with you!
