"A person is careful when sweeping the floor, because he is afraid that he may hurt the lives of mole ants. A man covers a lamp with a veil because he loves moths." This was originally a passage that Tang monk said when he admonished monkey king in Journey to the West, which meant to abandon evil and follow good without harming any life. When I was in primary school, one of my teachers ridiculed this sentence as a negative material, saying that such kindness was stupid and undesirable. Just imagine that a man even dared not hurt an ant, what great things could he do in society in the future?
Perhaps influenced by this kind of thinking, when I was young, I didn't cherish the life of ants, and even I could easily crush a few ants to death. When I grew up, I even talked about this thing I did in my childhood with relish and complacency.
At that time, my friends and I often went to play in the fields and often came across some big black ants. With a huge stomach and a pair of sharp serrated pliers in front of its head, the big ant looks strange and cute. One of my little friends said that the liquid in the stomach of the ant was sour and tasted good. I felt very strange. I caught a big ant, pulled its big belly down, and then sucked the ant's ass with my mouth. Oh, it was really a sour thing, but it was a pity that there was just a little, and it was over before I had a good time.
Looking down at the ant, I found it disappeared. It ran so fast that it had already run away. I cried to my little friend and said, "Look, it's got rid of the burden, so it runs faster than before." I was so complacent that I told everyone about my discovery, regardless of the life and death of the ant.
Without stomach, that ant would never survive. At the moment, it was only its brain that supported it.
Entering the high school, I had no time to play in the fields for I focused on my study. Gradually, this interesting story only remained in my memory. Many years later, I realized the absurdity of this funny story in my childhood, and even I felt guilty about it. I didn't think it was an interesting story any more.
All things in the world have life, which cannot be trampled on arbitrarily because of its lowliness and insignificance. The admonition of Tang monk is worth listening to and obeying which is a great truth and wisdom.
Countries and countries, people and people should coexist peacefully, man and nature should coexist harmoniously, which is the way to achieve world harmony.
I loved this story.
I greatly admire some Asian thoughts, since they come loaded with wisdom due to those experiences that the ancestors obtained from life and the observation of it. Particularly, I have this same vision of life, since as a child, I saw a movie where some monks were digging the earth. and when discovering that there were earthworms, they took them one by one, to avoid hurting them, since they thought they could be their ancestors. Although I do not believe this in any way, I do believe that the life of any living being is important because it is necessary to maintain the balance in the ecosystem, but unfortunately, not everyone thinks of the well-being of others but of their own interests.
To my surprise, you are so familiar with Chinese or Asian culture. As an entrepreneur, a musician, a father of four children, you are great, and I admire you. We human beings should cherish every life on earth and as you say maintain the balance in the ecosystem. Every one should contribute to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
Good day and good vibes to you, and thanks for your valuable comments and great support to me.
