The herdsmen-native farmers clashes has lead to a displacement of people in their thousands in Benue state of Nigeria. IDPs are scattered all over camps in the state- Guma, Makurdi, Logo , Kwande etc.
Life for the internally displaced persons is so turf , there is a lot of hardship , poor living conditions, stress and hopelessness for the what tomorrow holds.
This people fled their homes mostly with little or nothing at all, they are surviving from hands of some well meaning individuals, international organizations like unicef , christian aid, etc, and local charity organizations. Government mostly coordinates distribution of donated items , which most a times end up in wrong hands.
Some snick back to their farms and whatever they lay hands on ends up on the streets , sometimes minors also partake in hulking wares on the streets.
During festive periods like Easter, Christmas, and other holidays we organize entertainers to the camps to ease up tensions.
People have resorted to going to farms now in groups with hired security guards.
It is really sad to see the poor condition of our people... May God bless you for the work you are doing to better the condition of these people
