Act of giving

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog again. Today, let's talk about the act of giving, sacrificing what you have with no grudges.
Giving is an act that comes with a lot of benefits. Not only does it make us feel good about ourselves, but it also helps to improve the lives of those around us.

However, giving can sometimes come with a hidden motive or a grudge that can overshadow the good that it does, which is very very bad. We should always learn to give with a clear mind and conscience. No dey give dey vex, give with good intentions ✍️
To truly give with an open heart, we must learn to give without expecting anything in return and without holding onto any negative feelings or grudges.

The story of the old woman in the Bible who gave all she had is an excellent example of how to give with no grudges. This is something I will be happy to share with us all. Let's read and continue 👇👇

The story

The story of the old woman in the Bible is found in Mark 12:41-44. Jesus and his disciples were sitting in the temple watching people give their offerings. Many rich people came and gave large amounts of money, but a poor widow came and gave only two small coins, which was all she had.

Jesus noticed her and said to his disciples,

"Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on."

The old woman in this story is the best example of giving with no grudges. Despite having very little, she gave all that she had. She didn't hold back any of her money, and she didn't give with the expectation of receiving anything in return. She gave with an open heart, knowing that she was doing the right thing and that it would help others.

The lesson from this story is that we should give with no grudges. We should give because we want to help others, not because we want something in return. When we give with a grudge, it takes away from the good that we are doing. It becomes a selfish act instead of a selfless act. When we give with no grudges, we are able to experience the true joy that comes from helping others.

Also, it is important to remember that giving is not about us. It is about the person we are giving to and the impact that our gift will have on their life. If we can let go of any negative feelings or grudges, we will be able to give with an open heart and truly make a difference.

What do we gain when we give with the whole of our hearts?

  • Giving with the whole of our hearts is a powerful act of kindness that can bring numerous benefits to both the giver and the receiver. When we give with an open heart, we experience a sense of joy, satisfaction, and fulfillment that cannot be achieved through self-centered pursuits.

  • Giving with the whole of our hearts also helps to build stronger relationships and connections with the people around us, creating a sense of community and shared purpose. This is where I belong. I love people who builds stronger relationships through giving. It lasts.

  • Giving with an open heart can also help us to develop a greater sense of empathy and compassion for others, which can improve our relationships and social connections.

  • Giving with the whole of our hearts can have a positive impact on our spiritual growth and development. It can help us to connect with a higher purpose and meaning beyond our own self-interests, which can lead to a deeper sense of fulfillment and purpose in life.

Giving with the whole of our hearts is a powerful and transformative act that can bring numerous benefits to our lives. Whether we are giving to friends, family, or strangers in need, giving with an open heart can help us to connect with our own sense of purpose and meaning, and to make a positive impact on the world around us.

Why do people find it very difficult to give or sacrifice the little they have?

People may find it difficult to give or sacrifice the little they have for a lot of reasons. One of the main reasons is the fear of scarcity or not having enough for themselves. Many people may feel like they don't have enough resources, time, or energy to give to others because they are struggling to meet their own needs.

Another reason why people may find it difficult to give or sacrifice the little they have is because of the lack of understanding of the value of giving. Many people may not see the importance of generosity or may not understand the positive impact that it can have on their own lives and the lives of others.

Thirdly, people may find it difficult to give or sacrifice the little they have because of a sense of attachment to their possessions or resources. Many people attach a sense of identity or value to their possessions, which makes it difficult to let go of them.

Lastly, people may find it difficult to give or sacrifice the little they have because of the lack of trust or confidence in others. Many people may be hesitant to give or sacrifice because they are worried that their gifts will not be appreciated or used properly.

What the Bible says about giving and sacrificing

Let's ride on blurtians

"Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." - 2 Corinthians 9:7

This verse encourages people to give generously and willingly, without feeling forced or obligated. It emphasizes the importance of having a positive attitude towards giving, and reminds us that our generosity is pleasing to God.

"Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." - Luke 6:38

This verse reminds us that when we give generously, we will receive blessings in return. It encourages us to trust in God's provision and to give freely, knowing that our generosity will be rewarded.

"Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship." - Romans 12:1

This verse encourages us to offer ourselves as living sacrifices to God, in a spirit of worship and devotion. It reminds us that giving and sacrificing are not just actions, but attitudes of the heart, and that our willingness to give ourselves fully to God is the ultimate act of worship.

The Bible emphasizes the importance of giving and sacrificing as acts of love, generosity, and devotion to God. It encourages us to give willingly and cheerfully, to trust in God's provision, and to emulate the selfless love of Jesus in our own lives.

Is it by force to give?

No, giving is not by force. Giving should be done voluntarily, without any compulsion. The Bible teaches that giving should come from a willing and cheerful heart, and not out of a sense of obligation or duty.

In 2 Corinthians 9:7, it says, "Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."
This verse emphasizes that giving should be a personal decision, made freely and without pressure from others. Giving should be motivated by love and a desire to bless others, not by a sense of obligation or fear of judgment.

In conclusion,

While there may be situations where giving is required, the act of giving itself should always be voluntary and done with a willing and cheerful heart. Giving should be motivated by love and a desire to bless others. Thank you.
