Beware of Distortion of Russian-Ukrainian War Information

in newvisionlife •  3 years ago  (edited)

Dear Blurt friend..!

We are currently faced with a condition that is not at all desired by all of us. Russia's attack on Ukraine certainly makes us all sad and disappointed. Sadness and disappointment are then expressed in various forms.

Some pray for our brothers in Ukraine, some condemn the actions taken by Russia, call for an end to the war, and also call for raising aid as a form of humanitarian solidarity. All these forms of expression are natural because we all do not want war and bloodshed, let alone many innocent lives will be lost.

Since the Russian attack on Ukraine took place, almost every media page has been dotted with various information about the event, including here on Blurt. On the one hand, we all need the latest information about developments there. So it is possible to take appropriate steps to help the victims of war.

On the other hand, the more information that is spread out, the more likely it is that distortion will occur. Of course, we don't want this. Everyone needs accurate and valid information.

When the information we share only relies on sources from certain media, then the information cannot be fully accounted for. This is because the media that we use as a reference can also take news sources from other media. There are even some media that use status, photos, and videos circulating on social media as a source of news. This is dangerous.

I do not mean to prohibit the dissemination of information about conditions in Ukraine, but it would be nice if the information we share is completely accurate. Especially from our brothers in Ukraine, they know better. Not based on assumptions or discourse played by the media or based on unfounded personal assumptions.

In every critical situation, everyone is required to think critically in receiving any information. Do not swallow what the media convey, because whatever they convey through the news, the media also has an interest. Sometimes the media also contributes to worsening the existing situation with unbalanced reporting, only prioritizing sensation over accuracy.

Through this short post, I want to invite all of us to be wiser in choosing information before sharing it with others. Don't let the information we share only add to the panic and chaos.

Let's wish our brothers and sisters in Ukraine the best while hoping that peace can be achieved. Peace from the war of arms and peace from the war of information.

Thank you for reading this simple article. Hope it is useful.

Peaceful love greetings

a lot of those Russian soldiers are 18 year old people being forced to do their military service. War has no winners.

You are right, nothing can be solved by war.
