The Dagoba On Top Of Hanthana

I covered the first day of our trip to Kandy in my last article. Today I am going to extend my story about how our second day went. On our second day, we planned to visit only one place and go to the hotel we booked for full board.

Our target destination was Sanda Giri Saya, which we haven't visited before. The reception person at the lodge we stayed on the first day provided us with details of the route and place.

Sand Giri Saya is located in Hanthana Mountain. Recently there was a big conversation regarding this place. The temple is getting popular because of the youtube campaigns that were done by the young thero who is constructing the temple. Even though Harith and I were not updated on this it's a quite famous place.

Anyway, we started our travel in the morning, so we could see nice scenery on the way. Climbing up Hamthana Mountain by car scared me a little because the roads were pretty narrow.

When it went up the scenery was getting prettier.

The temple is located on the mountain just in front of the place we used to enter the Hanthana hike during university time.

Vehicles can be taken near to the temple but we used the other park located a few miles below. Because we wanted to take the full experience of the view.

Eventhough we had to walk a little longer, the view looked amazing. I guess the place this temple was built is a part of the tea estate. There were giant trees and it was super greeny.

On the top of the hill, we could see the dagoba that was almost finished. Actually other than some stage fillings the works of the temple were almost finished. We could see Thero supervising some construction work.

The view from the temple was also amazing. Actually, we had access to inside the Dagoba using a steel ladder. I guess they will replace the ladder with a staircase later.

Inside the Dagoba was super elegant. It was finished with reddish color drawings and gold statues.

This temple is very calming especially due to its view. I guess this place will be a tourist attraction soon. We used a different path to climb down. There was a well-made staircase to the vehicle park from the temple. We didn't forget to buy some snacks way down.

I really like the decoration inside the Dagoba, it's a different style from here in Thailand or what I've seen in Japan.

We have same kind of decorations all around the country. But I never see a different type of dagaba in other countries.

It seems that your trip to Kandy is so worth it. The place has a lot to offer. Anyway, thanks for sharing. It feels like I visited Kandy too.♥️🤩

How good it is to get to know other places through the experience of people who tell their story, and take us by the hand on their walk through the photos and what they write.

This has been my case; It must be a great place and one that offers a lot of peace all around. In the bags... What kind of snacks did they sell? Do they look like popcorn and carrots

There are two types of snacks. One type is spicy and the other type is almost the same as popcorn.
