Empowering the Future of Tech: Our Experience at the Makurdi Tech Fest 2024
Over the weekend, we had the immense pleasure of attending the Makurdi Tech Fest, hosted by the incredible Aondodoo Orkaan of Silva Web at Hub17 in Makurdi, with the powerful theme: “Tech, Monetization & You”. This vibrant event brought together brilliant minds, passionate participants, and inspiring speakers from across Benue State and beyond, all laser-focused on driving innovation in the tech space.
Our Founder and CEO, Solomon Kershima YATEGHTEGH (mncs), was among the esteemed speakers, and he delivered a profound and insightful talk on “Skills for the Future: Essential Skills for Careers in Emerging Tech”. His session highlighted the rapid growth of emerging technologies and the essential skills that aspiring tech professionals need to stay ahead in a fast-evolving digital world. Solomon’s words were not only forward-thinking but deeply actionable, leaving participants motivated to begin their journey into careers in emerging tech fields such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain, Cloud Computing, and more.
Adding to the inspiration, Iember Adega, our Kid-in-Tech Lead, fondly known as the Arduino, Scratch, and Blockly Maestro, represented SKYHub Nigeria with grace and brilliance in an engaging panel session. She passionately discussed the crucial role of women and children in tech, emphasizing how early exposure to technology can shape future innovators and industry leaders. Her advocacy for diversity and inclusion in the tech space sparked meaningful conversations on empowering underrepresented groups and ensuring a brighter, more innovative future for all.
