Some Depressing Photos From Thailand's New Normal

in instablurt •  3 years ago

I've been traveling and moving around the world for almost 19 years now. As some of you may already know I got stuck on the Island of Koh Phangan in the Gulf of Thailand for about eight long months. This use to be my old stomping ground for the past decade. I would come to Thailand almost every year and spend at least a week or two, living it up and having a great time with all the other travelers. Well, that all came to an abrupt end, and it's in your face all over the island with 90% of all businesses closed due to what some call the pandemic, the scamdemic, covid, lockdowns, the great reset.....you decide. But it's led to some very interesting yet depressing photo opportunities. Now come see what I mean.

THANK YOU

And they are almost all dutiful believers.

Oddly enough there was no covid on the island until mostly the locals all lined up to get "vaccinated". That's when the funerals started one after another. I never saw anything like it. Talk about about a real case study. Isolated Island of 10,000 people and no tourist coming or going. In fact all of Thailand was covid free until they rolled out the vaccines. Makes me think what came first the chicken or the egg? But of course it could have been worse!...🤓

Any and all of these could Turn On again if they went to crypto trade and private membership. I'd love to have a 7/11 I could loiter around in all day if it were JUST a BLURT only business where you had to "buy" items by making your own receipt using BLURT posting. I'd also run it as a 24/365 cafe.

But I'll have to do all that in my own Tyland I suppose 🤬🥓

I'd like to see that happen. Quite an interesting concept.

I went to to one of the Thai buffets last night where you cook your own food at the table. I must of had a half kilo of pork belly to my head. Can't get enough 🥓🥓🥓

Did you ever visited sri lanka?

I was planning on doing a Goa India and then Sri Lanka trip and hang out there for a while. But then the new normal happened..... and I decided it's best I just stay here in Thailand.

I read saw your post about the power outages and more going on there now. My goodness. I hope things turn around fast.

currenlty It's not good to visit here with the situation. But if this situation settled in near future, It's really worthy to travel here too. You will see great places in sri lanka.

I don't think I'm leaving Thailand any time soon, so hopefully by the time I'm ready to Travel again Sri Lanka will be a good option. I had a friend who spent some time there and he said he loved it.
