Good day everyone, I hope these meet you well, it's been a very hectic day filled with so much activities, but then within those engagement that got me busy, I still squeeze out time to checkup on my maize.

The rain as been favourable for the past three days, as it seems to rain at every given opportunity throughout the night, and this is a blessing is disguise to me in various ways like;

  • The rain water as the tendency to water every nook and cranny of the soil, unlike when it's been watered by me.
  • It save me the stress of rooming about in search of water to water the maize and other crops I've in my farm land.
  • Since It's mainly at night it rain, that mean I get to engage on my other activities and job without being hinder by the weather.

    Although despite the rain that as been in my favour alongside the maize, there as been new pest that are presently disturbing the growth of my maize, which are my local chicken and some bush rat.
    Though for the chicken 🐔, since I noticed they feast on the leaf of the maize, I've stop giving them the freedom of roaming around the garden, now they spend all day in their pen house.
    While the bush rat, are the once we pull down most of the maize down, like the one in the image below, I've tried to mend some open part in the fences that surrounds the garden, but if their terror continues, that mean I'll have no choice than to set up a trap within the garden to catch them.
    And I believe once they noticed, such with one or two of their pal, they'll desist from terrorising my piece of land.

Aside those issues, all seems to me going fine with the maize, except for the fact that while the growth of some part of the farm seems fast, some parts are relatively slow in growing in height compare to the others.

Since I regularly clear the weed each time I check up on the maize, that mean the surroundings are clean except for the cassava and vegetables planted beside the maize.
