Happy birthday to one of the Greatest and bad badasss Actors of all Time,Samuel Leroy Jackson. He was born on this day in Washington, D.C. on this day in 1948 and he is 73 years old today.
He grew up in Tennessee. He attended Morehouse College in Atlanta initially to pursue Marine Biology but later changed it. He has been in over 100 movies including Django Unchained. He attended Martin Luther King Jr. Funeral after his assassination and joined in many protests involving that issue at the time. He has won many awards.
He traces his ancestry via DNA to the Gbenga tribe of Gabon in Central Africa. He has visited them on a number of occasions and engaged in initiations and rituals to reconnect to his ancestral roots.
He was in Ghana, Senegal and Morocco last year as part of his Documentary Series Project which was released in October titled "Enslaved" revealing a lot of things we haven't seen or heard before regarding the Transatlantic Slave Trade and also some of the last Slave ships that sailed with the captive Africans. He is involved a lot of Charity work as well
