With 23 movies in 13 years, Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is challenging James Bond the most in terms of revenue. The popular franchise started its journey in 2006 with the movie 'Iron Man' starring Robert Jr. The franchise plans to release 11 more movies in the next few years. Among them, 'Avengers: Endgame' topped the list of highest-grossing movies, surpassing 'Avatar'. However, later on, 'Avatar' again became the highest-grossing movie.

Star Trek is a long-term potential franchise. In the 29 years since its inception in 1979, a total of 13 movies have been released in the franchise. It is learned that the franchise is currently working on a new movie.

The X-Men

Although X-Man is from Marvel, this franchise is not part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This franchise has come forward with a completely different identity from MCU. A total of ten X-Men movies, including the Wolverine trilogy, have been released so far. In addition, there are two movies in the 'Deadpool' series with X-Man and a total of 13 movies including 'The New Mutants' in 2020. Recently, Marvel bought the rights to the 'Deadpool' series and included the series in the X-Man franchise.

Although the recent addition of Marvel's Spider-Man character to the MCU, the franchise demands a separate mention. Two more small-screen movies were made after Spider-Man began its journey on the small screen in 1986. However, the first big-screen movie with this character was made in Japan in 1986. Then in the year 2000, Sam Raimi made three movies with Toby Maguire. Mark Webb then made two more movies with Andrew Garfield based on the same character. A total of 11 movies have been made, including the latest Tom Holland starrer, Spider-Man: Homecoming and Far From Home. The 12th movie in the franchise, Spider-Man: No Way Home, is set to release in December this year.
