YOU ARE WHAT YOU THINK*
Yes I know that's not how the saying goes...
It's definitely "you are what you eat" and it makes total sense..
I was listening to wazobia FM this morning while preparing for mass and the anchor said something that got me thinking....
He said something that made me say to myself, immediately I get home, I'll write this message and send to you...
What did he say? You may be wondering.... And here it is.....
"People no de think deep, their reasoning no de go far"
And he gave an example but I'll give the summarized version...
He said: four people worked in a firm, it was in pairs of 2 and each pair worked for 1 month before being transferred to another branch....
They had constant light but there was an issue....
The office didn't have a fan, and so they were always not comfortable..
The first one was like, let's get a fan,
the second said, if we buy fan now, when they transfer us, so it's another person that will be using it ba?
The 3rd was like, isn't the company supposed to provide it.
The 4th was no different...
So they each stayed for months in a facility that had constant light but we're totally sweating because each thought what they would do will benefit another person, forgetting it would benefit them also...
Whereas they could have just contributed small money each and bought a fan that all of them will use and enjoy...
My message starts here
Many a time, you disregard a decision because you feel it's going to benefit another...
Forgetting that you also will be a beneficiary too...
You refuse to patronise your friends business because you feel he/she will charge you money....
So you patronise a stranger and get rubbish results, then you come back complaining to your friend...
When you could have patronised him/her and both of you would have benefitted....
You refuse to pay your friend to teach you what he's doing, but rather you pay a stranger and he ends up swindling you or abandoning you and you come back to your friend for guidance.....
This isn't the message I wanted to pass across with that headline but by now I believe you get the point....
