Greetings blurts,

There are comments I have gotten over time ever since I discovered I loved to write and put valuable thoughts out here for many people to learn from.

Now, the thing is that a lot of people also have this burning desire within them first to impact lives through their writings and even to make money from this highly sought skill, but don't even know where to start from.
If you are in that category, count yourself lucky to have come across this post today. You'll be grateful you took out time to read this.

Here are some helpful tips that can help you get direction about the whole thing. Trust me, these are not google tips but those I've used over time and that have worked for me.

Learn to write by writing:

Are you shocked to see this? Like am I really saying this? Yes. I know you want to learn how to write but there are no two ways to do so but by putting pen to paper. You only happen to improve by practicing. Trust me, what you must have admired in my writings that brought you up to this point you are reading was achieved by constant practice and the passion to improve. Whether you choose to be a fictional or non-fictional writer, the place of practice can't be undermined.

You have to be a reader:

Oops. Sorry if you are not the type who likes reading. I'm not even talking about maybe your lecture notes or academic books. I mean just books, novels, guides, and the rest. Listen, if you don't have enough knowledge in your head, you can't have a message and you will always get stuck while writing. You can't give what you don't have. Read other people's works, see their writing styles, learn new words, expand your thinking beyond what you just know. Fill your head.

Take writing courses:

You see, what really opened me up to the world of writing was beyond a wish. I took a step further to learn from experts. And if all you are thinking of is free classes, you aren't ready yet. Perhaps, you don't have a strong reason for wanting to even write in the first place. It'll shock you to know the goodness embedded in knowing your onions as a writer.

Follow the pros:

I read something on my friend's wall recently on how reading from great minds tend to change your thinking pattern and level it up. The more you gaze at and learn from experts in your desired field, the more you improve too. In short, follow person wey know road.

Lastly, be intentional.

Don't tell me you are intentional as a writer when you still type in short forms. OK is different from k.

I trust this was helpful. Thank you for reading through.
