My Junior Secondary school

in instablurt •  3 years ago

In my junior secondary school.

Six ‘Okada men’ attended my PTA meeting.

I was schooling in a faraway state.

My parents were very far too.

And if they don't attend the PTA meeting, it will attract extra fees and punishment.

So, I told my parents that I have a solution if they can't be attending my PTA meeting.

The solution was; they will send me money. I will follow backyard and leave the school for a day. I will enter town. Find a bike man. Make plans with him. On the PTA meeting day, he will come and represent my parents. He will write my name. I will pay him five hundred naira after the meeting. He will hug me in front of our teachers. He will advise me not to be a bad boy. He will tell me to study harder and I should not be jumping fence to go to town. I will thank him. He will hug me again and shake me. I will escort him to his bike and I will pay him. And that's the end of my appointment with him.

Next PTA meeting.

I will find another bike man.

The process will repeat itself again and again.

There was a day I went and got one agbero. I told him what to do. Oga came to PTA meeting and started arguing with everyone that they should be allowing students to come out and enter their okada. Ndi okada spokesman. Oga even wanted to hook our principal on his shirt. Ah Fadalawd! Maybe they had issues. At the end of the meeting, he asked them if there's no Item 7.

Kai, one student even said, “Emma, your papa na tear rubber agbero o. First grade. Agawa akpoturu ndi okada.”

After the meeting, as I was hugging him for disgracing me. Our principal came and asked me how many fathers I have because six different men have attended my PTA meeting.

As I was about to answer our principal.

Agbero said our principal should shut up and enter his office and sit down that he is the fathers of my son and no need for stupid questions.

Till today, I don't know what he meant by the “Fathers of my son.”
