We live in vast world where technology has made virtually everything easier, even in the educational sector there's technology that has been implemented there. With all ideas coming into place, we advanced to a world with aspiring youths that will take over from us.

During the Corona lockdown in 2020, schools were shut down and we were forced to stay at our homes. This experience can Greatly affect the the academic performance of Children in the long run. But with the emergence of technology, we were able to tackle such issue with ease. Below I give you the meaning and Concept of E learning.

Meaning Of E learning

E learning is the process of teaching and educating individuals with the use of modern technology gadget without the need of being physically present in a room. It uses different technology gadget like laptop and internet to digital communicate with one another.

The acronym for E stands for Electronic, which in terms means electronic learning. Instead of the conventional method of teaching in classrooms, students can simply sit at home and use their devices to communicate and learn from the teacher. These method has proven to be successfully as it was used a lot during the Pandemic last year.

Types of E-Learning

There are two types of E-Learning methods in our world today, depending on the user, they can choose which one they would like to learn from. The following methods are stated below.

Synchronous Method

This is the communication between the teacher and the learner happening directly in the video chat or chat rooms. To further understand this form of E learning, it's similar to that of Zoom meetings, where different users can Interact with their colleagues in real time. Apparently this Form of E learning tends to be expensive because it utilize the internet and high speed connection and devices to be able to stream the video without lagging.

Google classroom is the most used software for E learning, it allows the teacher to easily send notes and assignments to student and it also supports real time video streaming between the users.

Asynchronous Method-

This method of E learning is opposite to Synchronous method, instead of real time interactions between the users, the lecturer/teacher has already complied the notes and lectures and saved them onto a drive or CD and sends to their students.

This method is usually cheaper because it saves time for the lecturer to be tutoring multiple students at once. You can sometimes find this type of E learning for free in platforms like YouTube and Wikipedia where education is given out for free.

Importance of e-learning

With the invention of E learning, many problems Has been solved in our environment today and the solution it has brought are:

• E learning enables disabled learners to get basic school education and degrees without need for attending lectures classes.

• It reduces waste products caused by papers and ink and it enables tutors/lectures to make more money while providing the best education through E books.

• Psychology has proven that the audio-visual way of teaching has a positive effect in the long run of the student academic life.

• It makes the students comfortable because their at home and Psychology has proven that home teaching is way more beneficial than outdoor teaching.

• It saves time as the tutors can teach anywhere from around the world and In their preferred time.

Conclusion

E learning has solved most of the traditional classrooms problem and which most of them are delay and procrastination. With that being said I hope we'll employ this initiative in our lives soon. Thanks for reading..⭐
