Greetings
Dear members of campusconnect, it's a pleasure to participating In yet another awesome contest. The aim of this contest was to increase engagements within members and it has shown some results gradually. So today I'll be talking about virtual learning and how it can shape the future of learning in my university. Without wasting your time, let's get started..

Question 1: Will virtual learning shape education and Learning the way we know it

Technology has made the lives of humans much easier and help finish work faster, so incorporating technology into a school learning curriculum will be a great advantage to the students. In Nigeria, during the COVID-19 lockdown, schools and universities were shut down and this made students to sit at home/campus jobless and useless. As they sit at home, they will be reluctant to study because there's teaching them and guiding them in their studies. So in order to tackle this, the federal government launched a programme that will benefit students at home, they call it "E-learning".

E-learning is quite different from virtual learning, E learning focuses on teaching students with the use of technology gadgets like online handouts, past questions solving etc. It doesn't create am interaction between the teacher and students. On the other hand, Virtual learning is quite different and unique, it focuses on real time interaction between the teacher/tutor and students, the use of internet and video streaming platforms enables both the teacher and students to interact and learn with in themselves.

In my opinion, I'm certain that Virtual learning will shape education and learning because it's a safe and stressful learning experience. Both the teacher and students can sit at the comfort of their homes and interact within themselves without leaving their comfort zone. In addition to this, virtual learning will be a game changer in Nigeria, because the kidnappings of students will be avoided, since everyone will be at their Homes and not Concentrated in a building, kidnappers will not have the chance to ambush them.

Question 2: Do you think your university will incorporate virtual learning into its curriculum?/ State the reason for the answer

Even if my university wanted this virtual learning, there isn't enough funds to utilize, since they've been struggling with ASUU for payment of staffs workers band maintenance of equipments, it'll be very hard for them to fund this project for the students.

If the government provided more funds for all the staffs and projects. Then I'm sure my university will incorporate it into the curriculum. In china, the government has incorporated virtual learning since 2013 and today their kindergarten class is using virtual learning to teach their pupil's from home in order to reduce traffic congestion and save time.

I would be very happy if the Nigerian government would also accomplished such feets, it will boost the Nigerian economy and the educational sector will change for the better if the students.

Question 3 : Do you think such a move will be plausible/

Yes I'm certain this will be possible, the students themselves wants this opportunity to stay at home and learn, because most students live off campus and the stress and costs of transporting themselves to the university is a burden for them. If the government have better funding and a more organizing system then we would have achieved this a long time ago.

It's sad to see Nigerian students suffering in the hands of the current government, they don't care about the welfare of their citizens and students but instead they waste millions of naira on flashy cars and houses. This move will be plausible if the government will change.

Question 4:Have you had any experience with virtual learning, if yes kindly indicate when and how

I did have a virtual learning experience some years back when I was in secondary school, I was preparing for an exam and I visited a friend whose parent were rich. when I visited him , I noticed he was about to start lectures he said,I asked where are you going? He then told me that he's gonna study Online at his house. I was shocked when I because I've never seen him learning online.

So I stayed over until he was about to start, then he took his p laptop and opened a software called "Google Classroom", then he entered the virtual class and waited for the teacher to come online. After some minutes the teacher came online and his asked who I was, my friend told him I was his classmate and friend and I would like to learn from you. So the teacher agreed and we both learned a lot from the virtual class.

Conclusion

I think Virtual learning will change the educational sector In the world as it'll make a more safer environment for the students since they're at their comfort zone and the learning experience of students will be greatly improved. With everything being said, virtual learning is a good idea.
