Went out for a stand up paddle this morning, got a few waves and got a bit bored. Decided I'd give the long board ago, as I've been meaning to for ages.
Didn't even think I could jump to my feet after all this time but I did and got a few waves. Strange figuring out a slightly different centre of balance and working out where to stand and move to turn after riding a very responsive 8'3 paddle board. My longboard is 9'1.
Funny, it's cold out there as winter has finally hit today, only 14 degrees and raining. But the water was lovely and I feel alllllliiiiivvvve.
Looking forward to having some fun on this over the winter. I figure it's better to vary my exercise as I get older anyway, keep brain and body supple. But sheesh, it's gonna hurt in the morning! It's a whole different muscle group.
Just inspired by my Dad I guess. 75 and fit as a fiddle, except for his cancer. But they wouldn't have bothered treating him if he wasn't so fit. I want to make the next 25 years count.
Coz I kinda like life, ya know?
