LEEDS UNITED AND BIELSA PART WAYS

Marcelo Alberto Bielsa has always been praised for his coaching exploits and style of play which puts Leeds United in a possessive and attacking football. He rose to the ranks of the 3rd best coach at the FIFA THE BEST AWARDS in 2020 after his tremendous display with Leeds United in the English Championship League in the 2019/20 season, which saw Leeds United winning the championship and promoting to the English Premier League for the 2020/21 season.

Few days ago, Leeds United parted ways with their great formidable coach due to poor results in this season, most recently being the 3-0 defeat by Everton, 4-2 defeat by Man United, 6-0 defeat by Liverpool and 4-0 defeat by Tottenham, all in one month.

Injury to Kavin Philips, who has been Bielsa's most pivotal man in the midfield has been a major cause of the lackluster in Leeds United's games but Bielsa's pattern of play betrayed him.
Leeds play football like they're some Man city, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Liverpool or Real Madrid. They barely get to fall back to defend even when the opponents have more quality players than them.

This is never the culture that fits average or small teams. As an average team coming up, you don't choose a tradition of always coming all out for all opponents. You do that when you meet teams of your kind or lower than you.

You only play all out attack when your team is capable of outscoring your opponents. This is because when you play an all out attack game, your defence becomes excessively exposed and hence, a bigger team, on a good day will surely score you tons of goals.

You see a Tottenham vs Leeds game with a ball possession of 40%-60% but the results will be in favour of Tottenham with a good or even large goal margin.

Leeds need to understand that they haven't attained the standards of the big dogs and should play with respect to bigger teams.

Bielsa's style of coaching will be best for bigger teams.
