My pleasant audience, I am deeply touched by this and feel like sharing it. The story in question is about a 80 year old retired man who later became abandoned and retired into another state of married bachelorhood.
Vision before marriage
The focus of this man had been that if he could be blessed with a good marriage and children that he would be sincerely committed to keeping a sound marital life and be ready to give sound education to his children to any level they desire.
Life as a young married man
As God will have it, his prayer was answered as he was blessed with a good wife and highly industrious and committed children. So he was also committed to their welfare and education. Because of his vision, he put all his children in standard and high paying schools and the children came out wonderfully successful.
The children's idea of Education and relocation abroad
At a time the ambition of the children to relocate abroad and have their further education and sojourn abroad came and this was really welcome by their father who had predetermined to be committed to the education of the children to any length. So the children one after the other, all relocated abroad.
The father's retirement
The man eventually retired after putting many years of service with his employers. As a result of this, the level of income dropped. Bye and bye the strength to do so many things also began to drop.
The children's marriage and child bearing and rearing
This new phase of life is the beginning of challenges for the old man. When the children started having children and the grandchildren are coming up, the question is 'who is to assist in the care of the grandchildren'? Of course, mummy.
Wife's continuous trip abroad
Because of the children's call, the wife started travelling outside the country and moving from one country to another and from one child to another in the name of the care of grandchildren, leaving the weak and the sick father alone to take care of his own welfare.
The challenge for the old man
So this man has to cook himself, go to market, wash dishes, sweep the floor, mop the tiles, arrange for his water, sleep alone and wake alone. What a deplorable condition!
The Lesson for every man
While planning for your old age life, make sure you prepare for a time like this. Make a reserve to be able to hire the services of a maid, driver, a cook and a wash man. This is what can make life bearable in this phase of life whether the wife or children are around or not.
