Tobacco is a controversial crop worldwide. Experts believe that long-term use of tobacco causes cancer or a similar incurable disease in the human body. Tobacco is commonly used for smoking purposes such as cigarettes, bidis, pipes and hookahs, jorda for chewing, snuff for sniffing and sniffing, roses for brushing teeth etc. Tobacco leaves contain nicotine as an alkaline ingredient, so tobacco leaf soaked water insects. Special help to suppress. The use of chemical pesticides leaves residues of toxic compounds in the crop, but nicotine sulfate is a high quality organic pesticide that does not contain any harmful residues in the crop and does not cause any harm to health.

Climate:
Tobacco cultivation requires a warm and humid climate. Tobacco cultivation is good at a temperature of 22627. A temperature of 30 is required for germination of tobacco seeds. Excessive rainfall is detrimental to tobacco cultivation. 1400-2100 mm Annual rainfall is ideal for tobacco cultivation. Humidity in the air should not be less than 50 percent during plant growth. When the tobacco leaves reach maturity, it is better if the humidity is low. Leaf quality decreases when it rains during leaf collection.

Soil:
Tobacco can be grown in almost all types of soils. However, tobacco cultivation is better in light loamy soils. If there is any deficiency of potassium in the soil then the taste, color and smell of the leaves are of low quality. It is necessary to apply green manure every 2 years in the cultivable land. Well-drained sandy loam soil is ideal for tobacco cultivation.

Seed selection:
Seed should be free from dust, sand, seeds of other varieties and malnourished seeds. Inferior tobacco is produced from adulterated seeds. Therefore, it is necessary to collect good seeds by contacting the officials of any reliable organization or Department of Agricultural Extension.

Seedbed preparation and sowing:
It is necessary to select high shadeless soil for seedbed. In the middle of the month of Shravan, the soil should be plowed 6-7 times with a ladder and the seedbed of size 10 'x 4' should be made by cutting a ditch around the land. The seedbed should be raised 8 '' above the ground. 5-6 kg dung manure per seedbed should be given at the time of cultivation. Apply 20-25 kg compost manure, 45 g urea, 45 g K2SO2 or 160 g ash in each seed bed. Tobacco is planted by making seedlings in the seedbed like vegetables. Sowing of tobacco seeds has to be started from the middle of Bhadra month. 10 grams of seeds are required for each seedbed. One hectare (6.5 bighas) of land requires 3 kg of native tobacco and 5 kg of British tobacco seeds.

Land preparation:
Weeds and roots of previous crops have to be cleared by cultivating the land immediately after the previous harvest. It is necessary to cultivate the soil about 10-12 times and with a ladder.

Seedling planting and transplanting:
In order to make the seedlings hard and tolerant, watering the seedbed should be stopped 5-6 days before the seedling is taken out from the seedbed so that the seedlings can withstand the injury after planting in the new soil. However, before transplanting the seedlings, the soil should be soaked with water so that the seedlings with all the roots can be easily picked. Planting has to be completed between the beginning of Kartik month and the middle of Aghrayan month. Seedlings are planted in rows. The distance from row to row should be 3-3.5 feet and the distance from seedling to seedling should be 2 feet. The first 3-4 days of planting the seedlings need to be watered at the base of the seedlings in the morning and afternoon.
