I was privileged to train an adolescent girl who came from a very poor family. Her parents were struggling to make both ends meet, she managed to finish her primary school but at her Jss2, her parents couldn't sponsor her schooling anymore. Though being a distant relation, I was aware of the situation and offered to help. I felt bad not only because she couldn't continue schooling but because she is a very brilliant and talented girl so I got her parent's permission to take her to the city with me where she can get more quality education. That was how she started living with me and my family and continued her education.
The environment is one of the main agents of socialization, growing up in such a rural area didn't give her the chance to discover her God's given, hidden talent. I and my husband enrolled her in school and she was doing good in her studies. By the time she finished writing her BECE, we got her engaged in what she loves doing; Bakery. She learned fast and within a short period, learned how to bake different snacks. She finished secondary school and decided to further her knowledge in the bakery and also decorations. She has improved a lot and is now an expert in it.
She was working in a bakery when she met a man who cares about her, they got to know more about each other and were ready to build up a stronger bond than the one they had. She got married early last year and she's living with her husband in their own house. Her husband being a wealthy man helped her family a lot; built a family house bungalow and catered for the rest of the family, both her parents and siblings. He supplied more than enough foodstuffs for them and other necessities, making sure they lack nothing. He opened a bakery for her and continues supporting her in all areas. She won't stop thanking me for exposing her to another part of the world and I also won't stop thanking God.
She is happily married and has already given birth to a handsome baby boy. The once poor village girl has become the owner of a popular bakery, enjoying life to its fullest.
