Today, I'll be telling y'all how my matriculation ceremony went.
I woke up this morning feeling light and jumpy. The day I had been anticipating before I even got my admission was finally here.
I hadn't yet recovered from my yesterday's nightly readings-- One factor that almost made me change my mind about attending the ceremony. Gosh! I felt like sleeping in my bed all day! Plus I am a chronic introvert in and out.. But I couldn't let my girls down. They had made me promise them I'd be attending the ceremony. They knew how much I hated social/public gatherings and shied away from them at any given opportunity.
I washed up, got ready and arranged my corner. I had made my hair the previous day at my friend's place- I only had to pack it into a bun and take my breakfast before I set out.
On getting to my friend's place, I wasn't surprised to see how pumped up she was about the whole thing. That's her thing- social gatherings. Unlike me, she's an extrovert to the core.
We got to the venue, collected our gowns, wrote down our names and took our seats in the hall.
I was surprised to see just how much people were in attendance, the place was filled to the brim with newly admitted jolly Jambites. I saw familiar faces and exchanged pleasantries with a few people.
Someone who I can't remember his name came to address us, welcoming us and giving us tons and tons of speeches that bored the hell out of the gleeful faces.
To my joy, the speech ended and we were userhed into the main reception hall- my favorite part of the whole thing. With lots of booze and buzz, I easily loosened up and began to really enjoy myself for real. I made some friends, tasted some amazing dishes, danced with strangers and had premium fun.
The partying went on and on till late in the night. I and my friends had to leave before dark. We reached home very tired and exhausted.
In the end, I was glad I made it to the ceremony. Made new friends and got myself acquainted with some places in the school. It was fun.
Congratulations
