This is a sea pandanus plant or Pandanus tectorius. This plant lives on the coast with supporting roots as a support for the tree. The existence of this plant can withstand coastal abrasion and can even minimize tides or possibly tsunami waves, because these plants have strong roots and stems.
The fruit of the sea pandan is green when it is young, but when it is ripe, the color becomes reddish yellow and its shape is similar to that of a pineapple. I found many of these plants along the coast of Ujung Genteng, Sukabumi, West Java, Indonesia.
Meanwhile, sea pandan leaves can be used as raw material for making mats which must first be processed as woven material.
Thanks to all who have stopped by on my blog. Hopefully this post is useful and adds to our treasury about the various types of plants in the world.
