Ratu Crater is a natural tourist area as well as a climbing spot in the Mount Halimun Salak National Park area. To get to the Ratu crater area, there are three travel routes, one of which is via the Pasir Reungit route. If we choose the Pasir Reungit route, it will take us 2 to 3 hours to get to the Ratu Crater area with a distance of approximately 3.6 km. Along the way there are shady trees because this is a mountain area of the salak mist. But we have to be careful because the road to Ratu Crater via the Pasir Reungit route is quite slippery, especially during the rainy season like today.
Ratu Crater is an area of the former eruption of Mount Salak which erupted in 1938. The height of Ratu Crater is 1347 meters above sea level. Before entering the Queen's Crater area, we will take a path with a fairly slippery road, slightly uphill. Approaching the Ratu Crater area, we will take a rocky road and there are lots of dead trees, so this path is called a dead crater.
Arriving at the Kawah Ratu area, we are advised to wear a mask because in this area there is a strong smell of sulfur. A puff of smoke can be seen coming out of the bottom of the earth along with boiling hot sulfur water on the surface of the earth.
Thank you for stopping by my blog, I hope this post is useful and inspires us to continue to love nature and take care of it.
