Its been one month already since typhoon Odette/Rai hits the Visayan islands of the Philippines the typhoon was equivalent to category 5 huricane of the U.S, and Cebu was one of the many islands of visayas that was greatly devastated by the typhoon especially the areas of Cebu province. The essential utilities like electricity and water was totaly disabled by the typhoon. People are finding ways to be able to meet their needs. Just like these individuals who were manually washing their clothes in the nearby river just a few meters away from our house. Since all their clothing were totally soaked by the strong gust of winds that comes with rain. These individuals came from mountainous neighboring village wherein most of them are the once who are greatly affected by the typhoon. I even had a small conversation of some of these individuals, that their houses were brought down by the typhoon especially the ones made from light materials and some roofs went off. Despite of all the damages made by the typhoon still they are grateful since no one was harmed in their family members. In my thoughts, it may be a worst presents for holiday season for everyone, still its worth celebrating for life is way more important than all the things dismantled by the typhoon. Here are some snaps that I took on the river.
Though the flowing water of river isn't that clear, affected families still taking advantage of it. They even made tents to have a shade atleast, since the sun is scorching hot right after the typhoon.
Before the typhoon the river used to be empty considering that almost every households has its own water line connections. But in these photos it turns out to be so crowded despite that the virus still exist.
While every parents are busy washing clothes, their kids were also having a good time free flowing the river streams, taking a bath at the same time even the water isn't that clear but everyone has no option to choose, but to take what's available as of the moment.
Despite of all the damages brought by the typhoon Odette/Rai, we Filipinos still shows resiliency and still optimistic that life must move forward. Just like these kids who does not bother what life brings after the divastating typhoon.
