In the Philippines, there is this boutique shop that is well-liked by every Filipino, the "Ukay-Ukay". It actually comes from the Visayan word "Ukay" which means "to dig", basically you have to dig the piled clothes if you wanted to look for a good dress or an outfit.
Ukay-Ukay is basically a thrift shop that sells second-hand items such as clothes, bags, shoes, and is usually imported from overseas. What Filipinos loved about Ukay-Ukay is that the price is very affordable and if you get lucky you'll find quality and branded items.
And since its weekend, its rest day as well of my wife, we went to this all clothes Ukay-Ukay shop in the neighboring town that sells all items in Fifty Pesos or about a Dollar.
Together with her cousins, we flocked to this Ukay-Ukay shop. I also tried to look for short pants but there's no size that fits well on me, so I took photos of them instead.
Largely of the items displayed in this Ukay-Ukay shop are mostly for women. As you can see in most photos, there are some men but women were dominantly shoppers.
As you can see there is a whiteboard at the back of the cashier affirming that they were on sale for 50 Pesos in all items.
While my wife is still looking for more Ukay-Ukay clothes, her cousins paid up already and even showed their packed Ukay-Ukay.
It's really a money-saving when it comes to any thrift shop like this Ukay-Ukay shop, Imagine if you go to malls and buy 1 item like a shirt it will cost you an average of 500 Pesos, but here in this shop, your 500 Pesos will give you even more and in addition to, the items you bought on this kind of shop are branded and has good quality than the ones in the mall.
