Well 2024 was a miserable failure for me, as far as my BLURT goal went. I set a goal of 50,000 staked BLURT for the year and so become an Orca Whale. Somewhere after mid year I realized there was no way I would be able to reach that amount so I revised my goal to 40,000 BLURT. As you can see even that amount was too much for me, I missed by 3,400 BLURT. Which is quite disappointing.
The reasons for not reaching either goal are several but the main one was a lack of effort on my part. I just did not post enough. So I did not get as many votes as an active Blurter should have. And of course, for some reason I started, after mid year, receiving less votes and of a lower value. That also was a big dent in my goal aspirations. I do not know if this less votes things means less active people on the platform or actually just that my work is not noticed. I actually am hoping it is my work that is no good, we need more people on this platform, not less.
Anyway I now have to set a goal for 2025, and I am looking at this low vote low value trend on my posts. This means I have to of course post more, much more, and hope I get a few high value votes every once in a while. But I think I will set the same goal I set last year, 50,000 BLURT staked. Better said I need nearly 13,400 votes to reach that goal.
Now, last year I actually thought I could get to 50,000 and I was short of nearly 30,000 BLURT, this year I am being more realistic, and I think if I put in more effort on this I just might make it. It is less than 1,200 BLURT a month, about 40 a day. I am making I guess about 5 from curation so I have to find a way to make posts that get me 35 BLURT a day.
Getting a few good votes every month could probably get me half of what I need, so the rest has to come organically from members. I guess if I interact enough I can achieve this. Well that is it for now, next year I will be an Orca Whale.

Hi there, I noticed your post under "New", and read it. Thanks for sharing your personal story and insights.

I disagree with your conclusion here. Another way to increase your post rewards would be to increase the quality of your posts (not just to increase the quantity of posts). Quality is how you can get noticed by curators. Provide quality original content on a regular basis, and you'll get rewards on a regular basis. What Blurt needs is high-quality content, not lots and lots of low-quality content. There are plenty of photos of flowers, for example. Taking more photos of flowers probably won't get you to your goal. Finding something you can provide that readers desire is the key.
