Talicum fruticosum (waterleaf)

Waterleaf is a vegetable that is prominent in Africa. It is a weed that can grow in any fertile soil. Why it is called a weed is because it starts germinating without been planted.
It's a useful weed and vegetable for those that knew about it.

Waterleaf I harvested from our backyard.

Although waterleaf is seen as a weed, it has vitamins, minerals and calcium. It is used to make a delicious soup. If combined with melon (egusi) soup, the taste is so amazing..
