INTRODUCTORY POST

Hello everyone, I’m Favour, but mostly known and referred to as kharis, a physicist, copywriter, content writer, photo and video editor. An easygoing, well-rounded individual with zest and passion for self realization and self development. An individual with a deepsitted sense of humor that never passes up on the opportunity to have a good laugh. Although hardworking and possessing a track record of operating in a way most deem as smart, I am somewhat a crusader of the idea of working smarter as opposed to just working hard. I was introduced to this platform by @hossy. In line with the traditional pattern of introducing ourselves firstly on this platform, contained below are a summarized details about me.

Born in Lagos, a western state located in Nigeria, west Africa, my formative years were in accordance to what one would expect for a middle child born into the average middle class family in the aforementioned region- fun and eventful amongst many other descriptions. Early periods of my interesting childhood involved a little stint, a bit up north the country- memories of which have proven to scarcely exist 😂. A return to the busy, commercial western state of Lagos soon followed, where I have spent a major part of my life up until this day.

It was in Lagos where basic education took place- both formal and informal kinds. Basic Formal education for me- a run of nursery, primary and secondary schooling- had a few things in common at all stages. One thing being the military setting where they all took place and of course my stellar academic achievement(permit me to toot my horn a little). This experience, even though now being but a memory, did sure leave its mark on me- abstractly and physically😅. Memories of assembling in the parade ground early in the morning and invariably under the hot scorching Friday afternoon sun still give me the chills(all pun intended).
The ways of Informal education, outside the walls of a classroom, while sharing some similarity, still diverged substantially with what I was used to in the context of my formal education. Both Honest and mischievous experiences with friends had their fair share of inculcating necessary values into my personality.

Still a teenager done with basic education, the twilight part of my teenage years would see me make a move down south- my abode for the next few years. That move, primarily motivated by my attempt to further my education in a tertiary institution located there, has proven to be one of the significant influences of my life. Life in the south, a slight deviation from the conventional mores I was used to in the west, as expected was seen as eerie from my lenses at first. It didn’t take long after a few days of socializing that I became acclimatized and well adapted with the region.
Years passed, in retrospect; so quickly, and it was the end of a beautiful love story(for the time) between me and the south. This was due to the fact that I was done with my university education (obtaining a BSc.) and was determined to move back to the west- which I did.

Everybody has that/those thing/things that they just relish doing, something that kindles the spark in their eyes, something they do passionately with a high degree of attachment. While the list has evolved over the years, my passion and hobbies include: sports(watching and engaging in), being a good athlete myself; learning new languages; reading different types of books and materials,ranging from self help to history and even biographies ; traveling; watching movies of all kinds; and listening to all kinds of music(as long as it sounds great)-with my little music catalog inclusive. Yes! That’s true I record music sometimes( although a long space of time precedes a new song from the previous one 😂).

From a geographical region considered highly influenced by religion, I identify as a Christian, even though certain aspects of what is obtainable in terms of the usual religion do not sit well with me and hence, my objection to those aspects. A sustained interaction with me gives up an obvious detail about me; a way of life pervaded by the creed of Christianity and the teachings of the Bible. I believe in the spiritual/metaphysical and see ideal untainted religious practices as a profound vehicle to that state. I attend church services from time to time and also pray regularly to God- the source of all life and the world itself. I also practice meditation, a practice common amongst people of the east. Apart from its spiritual significance, meditation helps in keeping me calm, as someone who gets frequently gets anxious.

A dreamer- as most individuals-my wider dream is for a better, happier world filled with love and peace, less division and a general sense of oneness amongst all humans, regardless of races. On a personal level, I hope to travel the world during my lifetime- to live out the days of my life bearing deep rooted peace while accomplishing my goals and aims in life definitely into the bargain . Also, to love and be loved deeply, without any condition.

This is a summarized introductory write up about me. With the passing of time, I hope to share a lot here with everyone on this space. This will in effect give an even in-depth view and understanding of me as a person. I look forward with excitement to the mutual flow of knowledge between me and everyone here.
