My favorite soup (Oha Soup)

in food •  3 years ago

Good afternoon my neighborsssss… It feel so good to be here again ❤️. So I was challenged by my Zaddy 🤗@Dicksonbem to prepare oha soup which is actually my fav soup. He actually prepared the soup by himself here is the link https://blurt.blog/food/@dicksonbem/my-first-attempt-in-preparing-oha-soup-nigerian-delicacy.

So today I went to the market, bought my ingredients buh I don’t have enough money so I just bought the necessary things that I would need.
Here is my list:
1). oha leaf
2). Uzuza leaf
3). Cocoyam (Ede)
4). meat
5). Smoked Fish
6). Crayfish
7). star Maggie
8). Salt and pepper
9). Ugiri ( local spice)

Procedures on how I prepared the soup

1). I washed my meat and fish thoroughly with salt then cooked them to an extent. I spiced the meat using a cube of star Maggie, salt and pepper .
2). I peeled my cocoyam , washed it then add it inside the boiling meat.

3). while my cocoyam was boiling with my meat and fish, I cut the oha leaf with the uzuza leaf . I used my hands not knife to pieces the leaf . Then washed them thrice using a little salt to remove sand .

4). My cocoyam is done for pounding so I brought down my pot, scooped out the cocoyam inside the mortar to pound it.

5). Before I started pounding the cocoyam, I added ugiri then I allowed it to boil so that before I would finish with the pounding the ugiri must have dissolved very well.

6). After pounding the cocoyam very well with palm oil, I used a small spoon to spoon it little by little inside my boiling soup so that it will dissolve quickly. My crayfish, palm oil, salt and pepper to taste, then another cube of star Maggie were all added at this point so that everything will boil together for a better and sweet taste.

7). A few minutes later, all my ingredients have dissolved very well and the taste is wooow.
This is the final part, since I am satisfied with the taste of my soup, i added the final thing which is uzuza and oha leaf but I poured in the uzuza first to boil for some seconds (I want the taste to boil out very well 🤗). Then poured my oha leaf, I allowed them to boil for some minutes for them to mix very well with each other.
Brothers and sisters my soup is ready to much with any type of swallow you like. Sorry I didn’t wipe off the soup on my plate😔 my bad 😞

Funny enough you might want to call me a weirdo because most times I don’t use my soup to swallow anything. I prefer to just lick it that and eat my meat, fish etc.

Hope I didn’t bore you guys, we are open for corrections buh do it with Love ❤️
