BYT Backs: Reward Distribution & Market Analysis for 20 March 2023

in byt •  2 years ago

The reward payouts this week were 32,000 SWAP.BLURT plus 3,400 SPS plus 300k SIM.

The total for this week (priced at the time of distribution) is 630 HIVE equivalent.

BYT token holders will see their rewards in their respective token accounts - not in their BYT holdings.

The Numbers

This week:

SWAP.HIVE per 100 BYT Payout = 2.296
Cumulative Payouts = 109.80 HIVE/100BYT (81 weeks)
Projected ROI = 142.6% (81 weeks)

BYT Program Total = 1,096,000 BLURT equivalent
HIVE/BLURT Rate = 121 BLURT per HIVE

BYT ABV = 0.328 HIVE (before distro) - 0.305 (after distro)(0.130 USD)

Buybacks will initially be in range of 0.29-0.30 HIVE, or best values given market prices.
As always, is a good idea to pay attention to market trades.

Insights

Some comments from yesterday.

Notice that, although BLURT has done a small dump this week, this has affected BYT only marginally. Indeed, the rise in HIVE means that one BYT is worth more in USD now than last week - up about 15%.

Some new tokens this week, which hopefully the gamers will enjoy. Both SPS and SIM have been profitable holdings for the fund, and both have high liquidity and high pool TVLs, so I don't think these distributions will negatively impact those markets.

The projected ROI has held firm at about 142%. As always, this final month will depend on market rates, and I shall be liquidating holdings if any further price spikes appear. One more distro next weekend, then we release the final buyback price. It will obviously be far higher than the original target of 0.1-0.2 HIVE, but that's fine; the winding down process has achieved its aims, so can make this final phase as simple as possible.

As of writing now, we see HIVE has pumped, so the BYT price of around 0.30 HIVE is now worth a bit more, although we keep seeing these spikes and worth waiting to see where it settles.

Just one week left, and it strikes me that the extra bonus distros are no longer necessary. We have worked through a majority of assets and have only a few things to convert - just getting what will hopefully be a few extra points of profits. The only things that will seep into April are the powerdowns of HIVE and BLURT, but those will make no difference to members as all BYT tokens are covered.

The final closing price will only be stable once everything is converted into HIVE. There is nothing magic about HIVE itself, but it is the only currency that BYT is priced in.

You can now see the winding-down process manifestly taking place as the dark-blue bars, in the cumulative chart below, have started to increase more sharply.

Here is a weekly chart of the returns expressed as HIVE per 100 BYT.

Projecting forwards for the next 2 weeks, we are now on target for a closing price of somewhere in the region of 0.2-0.3 HIVE per BYT. Higher than the original target, but that really doesn't matter; has been useful earning some additional income while converting a large array of tokens into HIVE. Also recall that the whole reason for this is so that we don't end up with an enormous pool of SWAP.HIVE sitting there waiting for users to sell-back to admin. The earning-while-winding-down process has worked well, and one has to compare it with dumping our investment back when BTC was around $17k and HIVE under 30 cents.

Here is the chart showing the cumulative payouts, ABV and the sum of both. The above chart is an expanded version of the dark-blue column below.

The winding down process will convert funds in the ABV into distributions - we shall see the light-blue column shrinking as the dark-blue expands. The total of the two may go up or down, depending on market conditions and income during this period. After just a few weeks, we can already see this process on the chart. The chart now also shows that the current projected ROI is about 140%, based upon the standard launch price of 1 HIVE. We now include the projected ROI in our data at the top.

As mentioned a few times, the BYT price chart has now been removed as the app that generates it has not updated in a long time. You can view the recent price action on Hive-Engine, and the historical chart has a similar shape to the above cumulative data.

And remember to vote on BYT posts - every little helps to increase weekly income.

As always, do not panic with those HIVE pumps - just take a little b8it extra profits from it then coming down again.

Thanks. Maybe I'll do a little essay in April as to why I did it this way, as so many seem not to have grasped it. Oh well... worth noting that back in Nov we were at an ABV of well-below 120% - compared to 140% now.
