At that point in our life when we do not get the results we always wanted, we feel overwhelmed by the constant disappointment that we experience. We have a feeling that the world has turned its back against us which brings about exhaustion and depression. Everything around us seem to be in turmoil and we start to apportion blames to ourselves, people, and things around us.

We are quick to enter the mode where we blame ourselves for not getting the result that we desire. We torture ourselves by thinking about all sort of negative thoughts that continue to demoralize and hinder us from growing and moving on to becoming a better person. Self-criticism is good but it becomes bad when it gets to the extreme - the point where you do not want to move on from that phase of your life. There will be a truncation of your growth and development if you keep on beating yourself for the mistakes or wrong decisions you made that resulted in your failure.

There are times when it may not even be totally your fault, it may be that you have got to your limit (your best) and what is bound to happen is bound to happen. Life is always in two phases, you win, you lose. You don't get to win everytime in life and a understanding of this will help you to know that you should not be hard on yourself when you make mistakes. On the other hand, the whole fault may be yours. You may have made an hasty decision and you can improve better next time. However, what has happened is in the past and you may not be able to turn back the hand of time. Instead of hurting and torturing yourself with guilt you can forgive yourself and boost your self-esteem to be able to make better decisions in the future.

If you are too hard on yourself you will not have the opportunity to be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Resist the urge to talk negatively to yourself when they creep into your mind, rather embrace the positive ones. The thoughts that will boost your confidence and improve your self-esteem. Self motivation will help you to conquer that little voice that is trying to use guilt to kill you. You'd observe that the more you blame yourself the more you will be demoralized and lose sight of every good thing that may want to come your way.

There are people out there whose life have changed for bad after an experience they had and this is because they didn't handle it well. Perhaps they made a mistake, a costly one and instead of them to move on and forget about it they held on to it for too long to the extent that it altered their view about life. Failing at something does not mean that you are a failure but you are a failure when you allow it to overwhelm you and you didn't try again. That is what makes you a failure. If you made a wrong decision that cost you so much, learn from the situation and never allow it to repeat itself again. This better than being hard on yourself.

If you are hard on yourself from today till next year it won't make you better but it will continue to add salt to injury. And it will be right to say that you are the architect of your own problems at that point. I'm sure you won't be happy knowing that you are the cause of your own predicaments.

Thank you for your time lovelies.
