So what was the author trying to point out in this part of the book , he was trying to tell us that social norms is a very powerful tools which has the ability to discourage or encourage some habits.
A good example of these is let me say, a family where a healthy lifestyle and eating habit is promoted, people who are found within these families are more likely to be cooking healthy meals , avoiding junk foods and exercising regularly.
The same also goes for an organisation where hardwork and productivity are celebrated , staffs within the organisation are more likely to embrace or adopt habits that will actually make them productive.
