someone that wants to identify as "reader" is likely to have the habit of reading as something that is inherently appealing, because it aligns with the personality with which he identify to be.
The same goes with someone who is trying to identify as someone who is healthy , the habit of eating healthy foods , fruits , vegetables , and even exercising becomes something he finds interesting to do thereby reducing his dependency on willpower.
so you see , learn to give yourself a positive identity that supports your habits.
