Continued from last post

the concept of identity conflict was discussed by the author , this occurs when our current identity doesn't match with the desired identity that we are trying to achieve.
This conflict has the capability of creating an internal resitance which has a way of ,aking it difficult to stick with the new habits. A perfect example of this is that if you you created an identity of "someone that us bad in math " within yourself , you might find it difficult to create the habit of studying math as it is in oppositon with the image you have created.

A way of overcoming this according to the author is to modify your identity in a way that it suits the desired habit that you are trying achieve.
It is a gradual process which implies the gradual shifting of your the perception of your self through small, consistent actions that reinforce your new identity.
As this your action aligns with the new identity , with time , the internal resistance wears off and the new habits becomes ingarined.
