Continued from last post
Setting big goals is not a problem at all , in fact it is very healthy for one to dream of achieving big goals . But where the problem lies is when one is expecting an immediate change at the beginning of adopting a habit.
The reason why most people fail to build on new habit is that they focus on achieving big results immediately .
examples of this includes
Running 5-10 miles every day
Reading one 4 books per month
Writing 1,000 words per day
Although these are achievable goals on the long run , it can be too overwhelming for beginners. And according what we learnt on the previous post , when a habit feels like too much is needed to perform it , our brain naturally resist it.
This is the reason why people give up or procrastinate.
The solution to this is the " two-minute" rule according to the author.
