Continued from last post

So just as the way we can make a habit to be satisfying , bad habits can equally be made unsatisfying , this is done in other for them to discouraged.

Introduce Immediate Consequences

One thing that actually make bad habits to be addictive is that they feel good at the moment . So if we can find a way to replace the good feeling with a bad feeling or discomfort, we cab really trick our brain into avoiding it.

Examples of Making Bad Habits Unsatisfying:

  • Accountability partners :
    Look for a friend that you really trust and communicate your habit to them, if you fail , then you owe them money.

  • Social contracts : just like i said in the previous post , you can introduced what i termed "societal embarrassment", make you goal public, this gives you a sense of embarrassment when you break the habit.

In summary , when you introduce and attach negative consequence to the bad habits, you are indirectly discouraging yourself from engaging in it.
