What tune gets you up? My three motivating tunes

I'm very sure a lot of us have been in a situation where we feel like giving up. We may not actually give up but we feel like it, what gets you motivated at that point?

What could get you back on when you don't feel like to continue? That thing you do or hear or experience that makes you feel better to continue.

Every person with his or her own kind but mine is Music... To be precise, motivating tunes.

But before I share my tunes, I'll like to share an experience that best describes when one feels motivated (My own experience).

The first time I had to face a crowd to sing was when I was about 12 if I can remember very clearly. I had people who would make me feel really good about my voice but there was one person who told me that I needed to do more work with my voice to sound better, he would say demotivating words anytime he saw me.

Yes, I got affected by that one person... I was young and I only wanted good remarks to be able to face a crowd to sing but I had to fight that one demotivating remark. It wasn't a must that I sang the song perfectly but the person made me feel like I had to sing it more than perfect.

To cut long story short, I felt demotivated to sing in front of the crowd so I begged to skip my part. I sat at the back of the class quietly to watch the others perform.

After a few minutes, I felt something... Most of the music they were singing sounded like they were trying to get me back on stage (Not a real stage though).

Before then, I had never sang in front of a crowd but somehow they found out I could sing so they wanted to hear me clearly. At the point that I felt motivated to sing, I begged for my time back and stood in front of my mates to sing.

I won't want to go in details with how it all went but it was way better than I had expected and I got a small list of fans that day 😅 well, that was a very long time ago and memorable.

These three songs are my "Go to play" when I feel down or bad about something, they get me real good and I hope you like them (they may not be all that motivating to you though).

Elastic Heart by Sia

I don't think I can share motivating tunes without mentioning a song by Sia, she has all the words to get me up through music. This song is one the most played in my music list and that is because of the words in it.

I won't share the lyrics here, maybe you should check the song out if you've not listened to it before.

The song speaks more about "Staying strong even when people are trying to break your heart". Having an elastic heart is way to go lol

Never give up by Sia

Like I said, Sia is good with these kinda songs and I think I have most of the collection in my playlist because I find them really motivating.

First of all, I love the tune of this song (reminds me of an Indian song 😅) then the words followed and I loved everything about the song.

You should check it out or at least watch the video to feel the beat of the song if you're not demotivated like me when I listen to it 😅

Head above water by Avril Lavigne

I'm yet to explore more of her songs but I will do that soon because I specially love this release of hers and it motivates me no matter how many times I listen to it.

Keeping my head above water and that means to me that I should stay strong even before the storm comes.

Do check the song out too and give me your feedback on the comment section.

Thanks for reading!!!

I love your selections. For motivational music, I like Taylor Swift's Change. I love the vibe and energy of it, makes me want to get up and go, gets me back in the fighting spirit when I'm feeling down.

I'd say creatives feel deeply, it's what strengthens our art. And so, you're a great musician and you feel deeply and you convey that in song.
For me, I love spoken word and poetry, and when I feel like I have to push past anxiety sometimes, I listen to motivational speeches or even poems. Here's a link to one of my favorites by Ebony Stewart:

I particularly like that she acknowledges life challenges, even while living her dream, the fact that life is not perfect for anyone. And then she says: "If your path is more difficult, it's because your calling is higher."
