When I think of the difference between being poor and having no money, I think of someone who has no money but has some opportunities. For example, someone who has no money but lives in a good house or has no money but can travel as he wants.
For the poor, the situation is more complicated, no money, no opportunities. Or should I say more precisely, nothing!
Repairing the bumper of a car that has been rear-ended in flowing traffic and then repairing the hole in the roof is a bit difficult to explain with positive thinking. Because a fight would probably break out there and the parties would never see each other again. And if they did, it would be in the presence of law enforcement or a court.
Most of the time when I choose a movie to watch, I don't look at the plot or the actors. Instead, I spend more time on the reviews, but there are exceptions. I might fall for a topic I find intriguing or an actor I like and go straight to watching the movie.
The 2020 American movie The Secret: Dare to Dream was one of those exceptions for me.
Just like a magnet, negative thinking attracts negativity and positive thinking attracts positivity, so I thought I should definitely see the movie and maybe I should adapt some of them to my life.
When I was looking at the plot of the movie, I learned that it was inspired by the book The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. In short, it was about the importance of thought and how it can change one's life.
I won't talk more about the plot, but if you are curious, definitely watch the movie. It has calming and perspective-changing properties. It's one of the most calm and mindless movies I've seen recently, and there are no action scenes to keep you on your toes.
There are many difficulties in life, but I think one of the most difficult ones is having economic problems. Moreover, when this problem is permanent, it is only a matter of time before you lose hope for the future. Being a mother of 3 children and a widow in such a process multiplies the pressure and weight on her.
Katie Holmes, who gives life to the character of Miranda Wells, who takes on such a challenge, was the actress I highlighted the most in the movie. I think that body language is important when watching characters trying to endure the difficulties of life. When they immerse themselves in the role they are performing, I assume that they have had the chance to experience such a challenge in real life or that someone close to them has had a visual experience. I can also think of the author of the book.
Although I liked the acting of Josh Lucas, who gave life to the character of Bray Johnson with his philosopher-like, extremely calm appearance and constantly preaching language, I found it off-putting with his confident and cocky attitude. For me, he lost the main character of the movie to Katie Holmes.
Nevertheless, there are some good dialogues about the impact of thought on our lives. I agree with most of them and I guess that someone with a mind free of negative thoughts can be happier. My own observations around me are in this direction and I have not come across any misleading event yet.
After all; everything you want to change can change.
