There was once a man named John who was known throughout the village as a wicked and selfish man. He cared only for himself and had no love or compassion for anyone else, especially his own daughter, Mary.

Mary was a kind and gentle soul, and despite her father's cruelty, she always tried to see the good in him. She would do anything to make him happy, hoping that one day he would see her as a worthy daughter and show her the love and affection she so desperately craved.

But John only cared about himself, and he was always quick to lash out at Mary when she didn't do things exactly as he wanted. He would yell at her and belittle her, making her feel small and worthless.

Despite all of this, Mary never gave up hope that her father would one day change. She continued to love and care for him, even when it seemed like there was no love to be returned.

One day, John became ill and was bedridden. Mary took care of him, tending to his every need and making sure he was comfortable. As she cared for him, John began to see the goodness in his daughter, and he began to feel a sense of guilt and shame for the way he had treated her.

Over time, John's heart began to soften, and he began to show Mary the love and affection she had always deserved. He apologized for the way he had treated her and vowed to be a better father from then on.
