THE PROM NIGHT (ENG/ESP)

All the final year students were very excited that they're finally going to leave high school to college, everyone was anticipating for the prom night and what kind of dress to put on. It's the school tradition that every end of the year, the management will throw a party for the final year students, so everyone has been waiting patiently for the day to come.

Few days to the prom, Esther had issues dealing with the family problem, though she was happy that she's finally going to college and she and her friends had planned how the prom night was going to be. After Esther heard that her parents were going to get a divorce since their marriage wasn't going well, but they had planned to divorce once Esther is in college, they never wanted to break the new to her so she could enjoy her last days in highschool like every other normal children does.

Unlike Esther, she woke up in the middle of the night to grab milk in the fridge only to hear her parents arguing and talking about the divorce. She was surprised and never expected to her that from her parents. She quickly ran into her room before they will notice she was standing at the door.

Esther had wondered why her parents are getting a divorce because they have been living happily without any quarrel, how come all of a sudden, they want to divorce themselves. Esther never knew they had been planning to separate since they no longer find happiness in each other. The next morning, Esther walked up to her mom to get answers, though her mom was surprised how she got to know at the first place but nevertheless, the mother had to tell her everything and how they have been pretending to love each other in her presence.

Esther was devastated, she couldn't control her tears because she loved her parents and she never wanted anything bad to happen to them. She doesn't want a situation where she has to choose who she will be staying with, but what can she do? All the stories made her feel so weak, all she does was to cry all day. She didn't even have time to think about her prom anymore.

Her friends had noticed her absence in school activities and other engagement because she was known to be a very popular girl with lots of vibes, but those vibes left her after she heard the terrible news about her parents getting a divorce. Her friends had gone to her house on several occasions to know why she haven't been coming to school but she had refused to see anyone not even her best friend Tessa. All she wanted was how she could bring her parents back, how she could convince them not to take a divorce but the more she thinks, the more she gets confused.

A day to the prom she was supposed to go to the mall with her friends to get her prom dress. She had wanted to get a green gown with a silver heals before but she couldn't because she was heart broken and getting a prom dress was the least of her worries. Since she had refused to go with her friends to the Mall, her best friend Tessa decided to get her dream gown for her and she delivered it herself to Esther's house, there she got to talk to her friend and make her understand that her parents planing to take a divorce doesn't have to change anything in her life.

Tessa made her believe that divorce is not the end of life and she doesn't have to choose one person when she can be with the both of them. It was then Esther started seeing reasons with her parents getting a divorce, she realized she was only being selfish not minding the way they feal about each other. Thanks to her best friend Tessa, Esther's mood was brightened up with her beautiful smile and then they had to talk about their prom night.

Woo woo, tomorrow is the prom and I haven't even done my nails and my hair. OMG!! I still have a lot to do Esther became more excited as her friend had come to talk her out of her sad mood. Don't worry, you still have tomorrow morning to take care of that said Tessa and they both laughed over it.

It's finally the prom day and Esther had woken up in the morning to go to the salon to make her hair and her nails. Her parents were happy that their daughter has finally come out of the sad mood she was few days ago and it was a big day for the family.

Now Esther is set for the prom with her lovely dress waiting for her prom date Skylar who happened to have asked her to be his prom date some weeks back. Skylar arrived at Esther house with his car and they headed straight to the party, Esther was so happy that she had to dance all night with her friends.

You know how teenagers parties always end, Esther and her friends with Skylar and his friends went elsewhere to conclude their party with a little alcohol and a game for the night. It was really a fun filled day for Esther and every other final year students as they prepare for college and what await them in the future.
